This test card is used for quantitative determination of N-terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide in human serum, plasma or whole blood in vitro. The N-terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT proBNP) is an inactive N-terminal fragment after the division of proBNP, which is secreted by the left ventricle when the cardiac myocytes are subjected to capacity load and pressure load. The determination of NT proBNP in human serum and plasma can be used as an auxiliary means to diagnose and monitor mild cardiac dysfunction in patients with suspected congestive heart failure, to assess the severity of patients with congestive heart failure and the risk level of patients with acute coronary syndrome and congestive heart failure, and also to monitor the treatment of patients with left ventricular dysfunction.
