This kit is used for quantitative determination of prolactin (PRL) in human serum in vitro. Prolactin (PRL) is a 22000 molecular weight polypeptide secreted by the anterior pituitary. It consists of 198 amino acid residues. Its structure is similar to that of hGH. The secretion of PRL is regulated by prolactin releasing hormone (PRH) and inhibitory factor (PIF) secreted by the hypothalamus.
